Taverns & Dining Experiences
One of the things I love most about Kefalonia is that food remains deeply connected to local traditions.
Fresh seafood, excellent olive oil, seasonal ingredients, and warm hospitality are at the heart of every meal.
Tassia Restaurant
Although located in Fiskardo rather than Argostoli, this is one of the island’s most iconic dining experiences.
Elegant waterfront dining, exceptional seafood, and a timeless atmosphere make it a favourite for visitors returning to Kefalonia year after year.
Ampelaki Greek Restaurant
Located near the harbour, Ampelaki offers a refined interpretation of Greek cuisine, focusing on local ingredients and fresh fish.
Ladokolla
A wonderful choice for those looking to experience authentic Greek flavours in a more relaxed and local setting.
Vinaries Restaurant
An excellent option for travellers who appreciate carefully prepared cuisine and a thoughtfully curated wine list.

Shopping in Kefalonia
While Kefalonia is not a destination for international luxury brands, it offers charming boutiques and authentic local shopping experiences. Argostoli, especially the pedestrian street Lithostroto, is the island’s main shopping hub, while Fiskardo is known for its elegant boutiques and artisan shops.
Visitors can discover stylish resort wear, handmade jewelry, leather sandals, ceramics and unique gifts, as well as local specialties such as Robola wine, premium olive oil, honey and the island’s famous Mandoles (caramelized almonds).
Evening Life in Kefalonia
One of the reasons I enjoy Kefalonia so much is that you do not need a vibrant nightlife scene to have a wonderful evening.
Most nights begin with a leisurely dinner and continue with a glass of local Robola wine or a cocktail overlooking the sea.
Around Argostoli’s waterfront and marina, you’ll find a selection of elegant bars and cafés where conversations flow effortlessly long into the evening
