EVIA
An Island of Untouched Beauty
As Greece’s second-largest island, Evia offers remarkable diversity, from waterfalls and thermal springs to pristine beaches and mountain landscapes. Its unspoiled character makes it perfect for those looking to discover Greece away from the crowds.
EXPLORE EVIA
As the country’s second-largest island, Evia offers an incredible variety of landscapes that few visitors expect. One day you can relax on a secluded beach with crystal-clear water, the next you can hike through mountain forests, discover traditional stone villages or unwind in natural thermal springs that have attracted visitors since ancient times. At Yamas, we often recommend Evia to travellers looking for an authentic Greek experience. It is an island where luxury is defined by space, privacy and simplicity rather than crowds and beach clubs. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with family or a group of friends, Evia offers a refreshing alternative to Greece’s more famous destinations.
HIGHLIGHTS OF EVIA
Beaches Worth Discovering
One of the things we love most about Evia is that many of its beaches remain wonderfully uncrowded.
Chiliadou Beach is probably the island’s most famous stretch of coastline. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and lush green hills, it offers crystal-clear water and spectacular natural scenery.
Agia Anna Beach is one of the longest beaches on the island, perfect for long walks, relaxed beach days and families looking for plenty of space.
Kalamos Beach combines calm waters with traditional seaside tavernas, making it ideal for a leisurely afternoon.
For something truly unforgettable, take a boat trip to Lichadonisia, a small group of volcanic islets often referred to as the “Greek Seychelles.” The shallow turquoise waters and untouched surroundings make this one of the most beautiful excursions in Evia.
The Flavours of Evia
Food is an important part of every Yamas holiday, and Evia never disappoints.
The island’s fertile land and long coastline provide exceptional local ingredients.
Fresh seafood is naturally one of the highlights, with grilled octopus, sea bream, red mullet and calamari appearing on menus throughout the island.
Mountain villages are known for slow-cooked lamb and goat, homemade pies, local cheeses and recipes that have been passed down through generations.
Evia is also famous for its excellent olive oil, aromatic mountain herbs, pine honey and fresh figs, all of which reflect the island’s rich agricultural tradition.

Restaurants We Love
For fresh seafood by the water, To Thalassaki near Chalkida is one of our favourite recommendations.
In Limni, Ouzeri Tou Thodori offers authentic Greek cuisine in a relaxed waterfront setting, making it an excellent choice for a leisurely lunch.
Guests visiting Edipsos should consider Kymata Restaurant, known for its fresh fish and beautiful sea views.
One of our favourite recommendations, however, is simply to stop at a traditional mountain taverna while exploring the island. These family-run restaurants often serve the most authentic meals you’ll find anywhere in Greece.
Experiences You Shouldn’t Miss
A private boat trip around Lichadonisia is one of the island’s highlights and offers an entirely different perspective of Evia’s coastline.
Hiking through Mount Dirfys is perfect for travellers who enjoy combining nature with spectacular scenery.
Exploring the traditional villages scattered across the island provides a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Greek life away from the tourist crowds.
And no visit would be complete without spending a few hours relaxing in the thermal waters of Edipsos.
Nature at Its Best
Evia is a paradise for nature lovers.
The Drymonas Waterfalls are among the island’s most beautiful natural attractions. A short walk through the forest leads to a series of waterfalls and natural pools, creating the perfect escape during the warmer months.
Mount Dirfys offers excellent hiking opportunities throughout the year and rewards visitors with spectacular views across both the Aegean Sea and mainland Greece.
The island is also home to the famous thermal springs of Edipsos, where visitors have been enjoying the therapeutic waters since Roman times. Whether you’re looking to relax after a day of exploring or simply enjoy a wellness experience, Edipsos is well worth a visit.
A Different Side of Greece
What makes Evia so special is its diversity.
Unlike many islands that revolve around one famous town or a handful of beaches, Evia feels like several destinations combined into one.
Northern Evia is famous for its lush forests, peaceful coastline and traditional villages.
Central Evia is dominated by Mount Dirfys, one of Greece’s most beautiful mountain landscapes, offering excellent hiking trails and breathtaking panoramic views.
Southern Evia has a wilder character, with dramatic cliffs, hidden beaches and strong Aegean winds that attract windsurfers from around the world.
Every region offers something completely different, making Evia an island that rewards exploration.
